POD-1M: How to do a Mid-Shipment Update

To do a mid-shipment update, you will require:

  • a smartphone or tablet with the IOTile app,
  • login details for IOTile,
  • proximity to the POD-1M at all times, until the data download from the POD-1M is finished
  • access to Internet (whether via Wi-Fi or cellular data)
  1. Log In to your IOTile account on your smartphone or tablet, ensuring that Bluetooth on your device is on
  2. Select 'Sync Project'
  3. Select 'Begin Scan'
  4. Check ID on the POD-1M (eg. ends in 073c)

  5. Select the device with the same ID in the app
    1. Can’t see the device?
      1. Move closer
      2. Scan again (try a few times)
      3. If it still doesn’t show up, shut off the app and restart it
  6. The trip page will open up
    1. Check that the ID on top of the page is the same as the POD-1M ID
  7. Scroll down and select 'Analyze Trip'

  8. The 'Trip Summary Data' subsection will appear, showing the current trip's duration, the maximum G the POD-1M recorded, etc.

    Select 'Send Trip Update' under the trip's data

  9. The 'Post a Note' screen will pop up with additional options to add notes and a photo if needed (eg. information about who is uploading or a photo of damage in the packaging)

  10. Select 'Send' on the bottom right of the screen

  11. Continue the trip
